About Sharon Lan, NCIDQ
Interior Architect & Designer

Sharon H. Lan, NCIDQ, is an interior architect and designer whose work sits at the intersection of architecture, emotion, and craft. Based in Orange County and Los Angeles, she brings over eight years of experience shaping corporate, healthcare, and civic environments that merge technical precision with human warmth.

Currently serving as Job Captain at IA Interior Architects, Sharon has contributed to award-winning and large-scale projects including Anduril Industries Headquarters in Costa Mesa, Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital, Guangzhou R&F International Hospital in China, and the Orange County Sanitation Headquarters. Her multidisciplinary experience has shaped a design philosophy that honors proportion, light, and material honesty — hallmarks of her calm, timeless aesthetic.

For Sharon, design is more than visual harmony; it’s about how space makes people feel. Every project begins with empathy and curiosity — understanding the nuances of how people move, gather, and restore. Her interiors balance restraint and richness: the tactility of stone, the warmth of wood, and the softness of natural light all working together to create environments that feel both sophisticated and human.

Beyond her interior design work, Sharon serves on the Team & Leadership Committee for Project by Project’s Los Angeles Chapter, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering Asian American communities through service and leadership. She also teaches as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Interior Designers Institute in Newport Beach, mentoring emerging designers to think critically about design as both craft and impact.

Whether collaborating on large institutional projects or intimate private spaces, Sharon approaches each commission with the same guiding principle — that beauty and function are inseparable when design begins with intention. Her work reflects a quiet confidence: modern yet timeless, structured yet warm, architectural yet deeply human.
